Job Description:
At the direction of the Dartmouth Cancer Center (DCC) Manchester
Medical Director, the Breast Medical Oncologist -provides care to
patients with a breast cancer diagnosis at Dartmouth Cancer Center
in -Manchester, NH as well as -provides oversight to the Breast
Health Program, develops new breast cancer research clinical
trials, and participates in cancer educational programs. Clinical
Responsibilities (75%) Provide clinical excellence and coordination
of care to breast cancer patients at DCC Manchester. Participate in
subspecialty and interdisciplinary clinics. Actively participate in
quality and patient safety improvement initiatives. Meet RVU
benchmark as established by DHC per specialty. Provide consultative
services to inpatient units. Communicate in an efficient manner
with the hospitalists, radiologists, pathologists, and
subspecialists in order to offer best clinical care. Respond
promptly and with professionalism to medical oncology consult
requests. Research Responsibilities (10%) Participate fully in
clinical research activities at DCC. Accrual of patients to new
and/or ongoing cooperative and industry clinical trials. Contribute
to clinical research activities as part of patient care. Open new
clinical trials in breast cancer. Support accrual on Dartmouth and
non-Dartmouth clinical trials. Teaching (5%) Participate in
educating the medical staff on a regular basis by answering their
questions and offering teaching materials. Teach medical,
pharmacology, PA/NP students on site and at the main campus in
Lebanon. Participate in teaching activities within the hematology
and oncology fellowship program. Participate in the core lecture
series for hematology and oncology fellows at Dartmouth Hitchcock
Medical Center (DHMC). Participate in Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical
Center graduate and continuing medical education Participate in
Hematology/Oncology section and institutional CME programs. Join in
public and community education programs. Administrative
Responsibilities (10%) Provide leadership, vision/strategy, and
oversight for the development of a breast health program in
Southern New Hampshire. Integrate with the faculty and staff of the
Comprehensive Breast Program to foster research opportunities,
enhance communication and jointly develop the subspecialty program.
Attend and represent DCC in community events. Applicants must be
Board eligible/certified in hematology and oncology and eligible
