CNC Machine Set-up 2nd Shift This position is eligible for a
$4,000 sign on bonus. 1st $2,000 after a successful completion of
90 days and 2nd payment after a successful completion of 180 days

Position Summary The Prototype Machinist will set up, troubleshoot,
and operate multiple types of CNC machines on medium to highly
complex components in a fast-paced, low volume prototype
manufacturing environment. This is a mid-level position that draws
on prior machining experience and technical problem-solving skills
to set up and operate a minimum of 2 types of CNC equipment such as
mills, lathes, wire EDM, and Swiss CNC machines. This position will
work in a collaborative, fast-paced, dynamic, team environment
within the Research and Development and Production departments in
the completion of assigned projects. Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Independently prove out new programs, diagnose and troubleshoot
quality or process issues, and operate a minimum of 2 types of CNC
equipment such as lathes, mills, EDM, and Swiss machines.
Understand and read EIA G-code CNC programming language and make
necessary edits and changes at the machine as required for process
adjustment independently. Resolve technical machining and
quality-related issues and implement process improvements on medium
to highly complex components on a minimum of 2 types of machining
equipment such as lathes, mills, EDM, and Swiss CNC machines. Read
and interpret technical drawings per ASME Y14.5-2009 and recommend
changes back to CNC and CMM programmers to improve quality
conformance and process stability. Correctly identify and assemble
cutting tools and tool holder assemblies based on existing process
documentation and recommend changes to improve tool life, component
quality, and process stability to CNC programmers. Correctly
identify, assemble, and install workholding solutions based on
existing process documentation and pick up any work offsets as
required. Also, recommend changes to CNC Programmers to improve
workholding for component quality and process stability. Obtain,
read, and follow set-up sheets in the execution of a CNC machine
setup, and suggest edits and changes to the CNC programmer as
needed for document control. Complete all required inspection
measurements as defined on quality control plans using hand tools,
gage pins, Micro-Hite height stands, and optical comparators.
Perform all process completion tasks as required including but not
limited to hand deburring, tumbling, wet blast, heat-treatment, and
component handling. Engages in and actively volunteers for
Continuous Improvement projects/tasks. Participates in and sustains
5S Standards. Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
Must be able to travel infrequently. Miscellaneous duties as
assigned.
