- POSITION SUMMARY
- As a strategic partner, the Business Partner aligns business
objectives with employees and management in designated client base.
The Business Partner serves as a consultant to management on Human
Resource related issues.
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attends and participates in client base leadership
meetings.
- Provides HR consultation and support to designated client base
using knowledge of various human resource functions, including
staffing, compensation, benefits, training and employee relations
to provide tactical HR support to managers.
- Counsels employees and management regarding employee relations
issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations
to bring issue to a reasonable resolution that is consistent with
sound employee relations practices and employment law. Seeks
guidance from Senior Business Partner, Director of Talent
Management and/or Legal as needed.
- Provides day to day performance management guidance to
management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary
actions).
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work
relationships, build morale, increase productivity and
retention.
- Provides HR Policy guidance and interpretation.
- Provides guidance and input on client base restructures,
workforce planning and succession planning.
- Ensures that the formal disciplinary action process is followed
using the appropriate HR policies and guidelines and that actions
are communicated appropriately and the rights of all participants
are observed.
- Coordinates all activities related to termination of employment
including documentation, wage payout, benefit information,
security, and all legal requirements. Is present with manager
during actual release of employee as needed. May represent EHS at
unemployment claims hearings.
- Identifies training and individual coaching needs for client
base.

- Knowledge of State and Federal laws governing employment
activities, such as FLSA, EEO, ADA, FMLA, Title Seven and
employment security.
- General knowledge in broad areas of employment and specific
knowledge of EHS employment procedures, compensation practices and
benefits plans.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of discretion, diplomacy
and confidentiality.
- EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
required.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of HR Generalist
experience required.
- Certification/Licensure: PHR, SPHR or HR certificate
preferred.
- Software/Hardware: MS Office and HRIS.
