16 hours per week, 11:00am-7:30pm, every weekendThis position is eligible for our weekend bonus. Work 16 hours per week, get paid for 24 hours.POSITION SUMMARYA Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist performs computed tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for the interpretation by, or at the request of, a licensed practitioner and assists with interventional procedures. The CT Technologist performs all duties in a manner that promotes teamwork and reflects the Mission, Philosophy and Code of Conduct of Elliot Health System.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPractices within the scope of practice of the computed tomography technologist as outlined by the American Society of Radiologic Technologist (ASRT).Performs venipuncture.Prepares and positions patient for CT procedures according to the CT procedure manual.Prepares and/or administers contrast media i.e.: orally, IV, rectally.Provides radiation protection to patient, staff, and self-according to prescribed safety standardsRecognizes emergency situations, initiates code procedures, and administers first aid/CPR as needed.Records patient history, unusual conditions/limitations, and other information such as; exam time, room number, and technique.Restocks supplies and maintains assigned work station/equipment in an orderly fashion and orders appropriate supplies as needed.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLSDemonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, human physiology, pathology, pharmacology, computer technology, basic patient care and assessment techniques, radiation physics, radiation biology, radiation protection, and medical terminology.Maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique.Maintain knowledge about radiation protection, safety and current scanning protocols.Independently perform or assist the licensed practitioner in the completion of diagnostic, therapeutic, interventional, and fusion CT procedures.Prepare, administer, and document activities related to contrast media (medications).Maintains licensure requirements.Maintains certifications for BLS and venipuncture.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSUREEducation: Graduate of an accredited educational program in radiography, radiation therapy, or nuclear medicine technology required.Experience: Five (5) years of experience as a Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy Technologist.Certification/Licensure: Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Certification Required. ARRT certification required. ARRT certified with desired certification in Computed Tomography preferred. ARRT(CT) required within 24 months.
