POSITION SUMMARY: Provide a warm, nurturing, safe and loving environment where self concepts are enhanced, independence and individuality respected. To develop a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Must ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Individuals must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job.

  1. Completed high school

a. Must submit to the required NH Early Childhood Teacher Credential Lattice and/or NH Early Childhood Master Teacher Credential Lattice.

b. Maintain workshop hours in compliance with Licensing Requirements.

  1. Continues to work toward educational training in Early Childhood Development and Care, and be experienced in caring for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Have a strong understanding of Child Development.

  2. Infant/Child CPR and First Aid Certificate.

  3. Must clear full background check and pass health screening.

  4. Ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to children.

  5. Evidence of emotional maturity and stability.

  6. Evidence of sufficient security and judgment to handle crisis situations and use supervision constructively.

  7. High energy and the ability to work well with other(staff, children and parents) and to foster a team environment.

  8. Ability to supervise co-workers.

  9. Dependability/Discretion at all times.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Light: must exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally
  • Occasionally: up to 1/3 of the time
