Under the immediate supervision of the Community testing team
lead/ nurse, is responsible for the safe collection of COVID-19
laboratory specimens in an outdoor drive through tent setting
following CDC guidelines for use of personal protective equipment
(PPE) and infection control best practices.
This is a temporary per diem position.
Clinical and Administrative Competency
1 Demonstrates clinical competencies and best practice for the
safe collection of a variety of swab tests for COVID-19 specimen
collection using personal protection equipment.
2 Verify daily testing schedule, coordinate clerical prep
activities with testing team, check in patients for their scheduled
testing, verify and accurately update patient demographic
information in, correctly label specimens, deliver and reconcile
specimens at lab.
3 Demonstrates ability to work wearing personal protective
equipment in a drive through covered tent environment (climate
controlled in tent, tent covered drive through area).
Patient Advocacy: Utilize appropriate resources for non-English
speaking patients, hearing and sight impaired individuals, and/or
healthcare illiteracy Take proactive steps to recognize and report
suspected abuse including child abuse, sexual abuse, spousal abuse,
report to your supervisor
1 Participates in quality reviews, audits and process
improvement as needed.
2 Infection Control, strict adherence to hand hygiene, masking
and PPE protocols. Demonstrates proficiency in donning and doffing
necessary PPE for COVID-19 specimen collection. Follows infection
prevention best practices and techniques to prevent the spread of
Professionalism: Utilized professional and polite telephone
etiquette skills and computer skills to communicate and follow up
with patients regarding their vaccine appointments.
Education: Technical level of education (LNA, MA, EMT or Lab
Tech) in addition to High School or equivalency. Able to work
wearing personal protective equipment in an outdoor and drive
through tent environment.
Experience: Experience in a healthcare setting with specimen
collection and use of PPE preferred, experience with electronic
health records preferred. Must be computer proficient Technical
training or certificate.
New Hampshire LNA, MA, EMT or Lab Tech in good standing
