searching for our first Senior Systems Administrator (SysAdmin).
You will be the local expert working with our experienced IT global
team and IT support to help ensure that our scientific teams have
dependable, high-performing systems to accelerate drug discovery.
You will ensure a seamless, secure, reliable and efficient
operation of research platforms, lab systems, data workflows, and
our hybrid cloud environment. If you are collaborative, hands-on,

What You'll Do: 1. Infrastructure & Networking Administration
Manage our local on-prem and cloud-based servers, VMs, and storage
systems. Administer, deploy, configure and maintain a resilient
on-prem and cloud network in collaboration with global cloud and
networking teams as part of the global technology services
organization. Manage and administer on-prem & cloud hosted
firewalls, ports, routers, hubs, switches, VLANs, VPCs, transit
gateways & certificates. Monitor and maintain system performance,
reliability, availability, backups, and disaster recovery
workflows. 2. Scientific Systems Support Provide operational
support for scientific informatics platforms, including
cheminformatics and data platforms (e.g., KNIME, Spotfire,
LiveDesign, Pipeline tools), computational chemistry and
bioinformatics compute environments and licensed software. Manage
software installation, configuration, upgrades, and lifecycle.
Ensure compatibility between platform updates, infrastructure
changes, and security requirements. Support IT platform to drive
tools for integrations of lab equipment, informatics systems, and
data pipelines. 3. Collaboration with DevSecOps, DataOps, and
Engineering Support DevSecOps engineers with Infrastructure As Code
(IaC) templates / scripts for automated provisioning of
infrastructure, network, scientific platforms & environment,
identity & access management, secrets management, and runner/VM
setup. Assist with containerized environments (Docker), deployed
within single-cloud or multi-cloud kubernetes clusters and cloud
resources. Coordinate deployment schedules and change controls for
scientific applications. Work with engineering teams to streamline
continuous integration, development and assist with CI/CD pipeline
management and orchestration. 4. Collaboration with Global IT
Security & Compliance Liaise with global cybersecurity and
networking teams to ensure local systems adhere to policies,
standards and best practices. Support vulnerability management,
patching, logging, and alerting. Manage certificates, endpoint
controls, and secure data transfer channels. Maintain
documentation, SOPs, and audit-ready records for regulated or
compliant systems. 5. User Support & Stakeholder Engagement Provide
hands-on first and second-line support for scientific users.
Troubleshoot problems involving servers, software, networking,
authentication, or scientific tools. Work closely with chemistry,
biology, computational sciences, and lab operations to understand
their IT needs. Communicate clearly with non-technical users and
translate requirements into technical specifications. Who You Are:
You will bring demonstrable experience in systems administration
gained supporting or working in a scientific, biotech or pharma
setting. Strong knowledge & experience administering Windows &
Linux Servers. Experience with enterprise networking concepts (DNS,
DHCP, VPN, SD-WAN, Network Overlays, firewall rules, ports,
certificates, VPCs, routers, network hubs, transit gateways, etc.).
Some hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure & networking
services within GCP & AWS. Experience deploying and maintaining
scientific or technical software. Ability to troubleshoot complex
technical and integration issues. Excellent communication skills
and ability to work with cross-functional teams. Desirable Skills
Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, Python, Terraform or others
Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipeline managers such as
Jenkins, or infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Ansible,
Chef, Puppet Understanding data security, application security &
cybersecurity best practices Familiarity with LIMS, ELN, data
capture systems, cheminformatics, or bioinformatics tools Knowledge
of GxP or regulated environments (nice to have but not required)
