Job Description:
MaineHealth Behavioral Health (MHBH) is seeking a full-time (1.0
FTE) psychiatrist to join our team in Portland, Maine, with a
unique opportunity to work across two levels of care. This hybrid
role offers the opportunity to provide both intensive, team-based
psychiatric care and traditional outpatient treatment within a
collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. - 5 days per weekat
our Spring Harbor Hospital Outpatient Clinic, and - 5 days per
weekin our Ambulatory Outpatient Program, both located at 165
Lancaster Street About the Spring Harbor Outpatient Clinic: The
Spring Harbor Outpatient Clinic bridges the gap between intensive
services (Hospitalization or Partial Hospitalization) and
outpatient care, offering an alternative for patient individuals
who require more intensive treatment than traditional outpatient
visits. The program provides: - Structured team-based approach to
delivering - Individualized treatment planning with specific tracks
and lengths of stay - A multidisciplinary team including
psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses - A focus on reducing
psychiatric symptoms and preventing inpatient hospitalization The
selected psychiatrist will serve as a lead of the interdisciplinary
team, conduct psychiatric evaluations, manage medications, and
guide treatment planning in collaboration with primary care
clinicians and psychiatric nursing staff. About the MaineHealth
Behavioral Health Outpatient Program: The MHBH Ambulatory
Outpatient Program in Portland is evolving into a CCBHC model of
care, which ensures timely access to comprehensive, coordinated
behavioral health services for individuals and families in
Cumberland County. Services include: - Psychiatric evaluation and
medication management - Individual & family therapy, peer support
services, and care coordination - Established Dialectical
Behavioral Therapy program - Trauma-informed, recovery-oriented
approaches - Support for co-occurring mental health and substance
use conditions - Telehealth and hybrid care options Minimum
Qualification: - MD or DO with board certification or eligibility
in Psychiatry. - Current or eligible licensure as a physician by
the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine. - Certified by the
American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or be eligible for
examination by the American Board as documented by written
evidence. - Board Certified or board eligible in general
psychiatry. - Current DEA Registration Certificate. - 3 years'
experience inclusive residency and/or fellowship training. -
Experience or interest in partial hospitalization, co-occurring
disorders, or integrated care preferred. - Strong commitment to
collaborative, patient-centered care. This position offers: -
