Job Description:
Albany Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse II
to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This role is pivotal
in providing top-tier care and recovery services for patients
post-surgery. As part of our team, you will work in a
state-of-the-art facility that combines a commitment to medical
education with groundbreaking research and exceptional patient
care. This position requires a compassionate professional who
thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to the
recovery and comfort of patients during the critical post-operative
period. Monitoring patients' vital signs and assessing levels of
consciousness post-surgery. Administering prescribed medications
and providing pain management according to physician orders.
Observing and recording patients' progress and any symptoms of
post-operative complications. Communicating with surgeons and
anesthesiologists about patient conditions and potential issues.
Educating patients and their families on post-procedure care and
necessary follow-ups. Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work
environment. Assisting with discharge planning and ensuring
seamless transition from PACU to the next level of care. Strong
skills in patient assessment and critical thinking. Proficiency in
managing multiple patient needs simultaneously. Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to operate
specialized PACU equipment. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance
Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current Registered Nurse (RN)
license in the state of employment. Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
preferred.
