Ultrasound Tech Location: Manchester, NH Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,348 per week Shift Information: Nights - 4 days x 10 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Ultrasound Technician Profession: Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: NH MIRT Licensure Certifications: BLS, RDMS Must-Have: Candidates must have at least one year of experience with a wide array of exposure to various types of ultrasound. A good track record with past employers and positive references is required. Knowledge of anatomy and pathology with the ability to recognize normal from abnormal findings is essential. Basic scanning skills with a good understanding of sonographic physics and techniques are necessary. Clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting with some exposure to general, vascular, and OB-GYN sonography is required. Description: Monday to Thursday schedule. The unit has four ultrasound rooms and a staff of 14. During the day shift, four sonographers are staffed plus a supervisor. One sonographer is staffed on the second shift after 7:30 PM. One sonographer is staffed on the night shift. The patient ratio is 8-10 in an 8-hour shift. Equipment used includes Siemens Acuson S200 and GE Logiq E10. The EMR utilized is Allscripts, and PACS is InteleRad. The patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics. Typical procedures performed include thoracentesis, paracentesis, fine needle aspirations, and biopsies of various tissues. Additional procedures include drainages of abscesses, cysts, and hematomas. Thrombin injections and needle placements are also performed. Experience in the operating room with ultrasound procedures is preferred. Candidates should be hard-working, willing to learn, and self-motivated. A compassionate approach to patient care is essential. The ability to work as part of a team and independently is required. Candidates should be willing to teach and communicate appropriately with management. Adherence to department policies is expected. Weekends are covered by designated weekend staff, and no call is required. All attendance and PTO request policies must be followed. All exam protocols need to be adhered to.
