what we can do together. How You Will Achieve More: The Trade
Account Director will play a critical role in building and
executing the trade and channel distribution strategy for our lead
gene-editing therapy product in preparation for commercial launch.
This individual will be responsible for designing and
operationalizing the distribution model, selecting and contracting
with key channel partners (specialty pharmacy, specialty
distributors, and 3PL) and ensuring all systems and processes are
in place for successful product availability at launch. This is a
highly strategic, hands-on role is ideal for an experienced trade
professional who thrives in fast-paced, build-from-scratch
environments and understands the complexity of launching
innovative, high-value therapies. Responsibilities: Pre-Launch
Strategy & Planning Lead the development of a pre-commercial trade
and distribution strategy aligned with product profile, patient
journey, and launch markets. Evaluate and select appropriate
distribution models (e.g., specialty pharmacy, specialty
distribution, direct-to-site) in collaboration with Market Access,
Patient Services, and Supply Chain. Identify, assess, and negotiate
agreements with external trade partners (SPs, SDs, 3PL) to support
launch readiness. Design and implement logistics and cold chain
processes to support time-sensitive and temperature-sensitive
gene-editing therapies. Define data reporting requirements, service
level agreements (SLAs), and KPIs in collaboration with partners
and internal stakeholders. Cross-Functional Integration &
Collaboration Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Quality,
Regulatory, Legal, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment on
operational readiness and risk mitigation. Partner with Market
Access and Patient Services to ensure trade strategy supports
optimal patient access and provider experience. Support development
of internal SOPs, compliance reviews, and governance processes for
channel operations. Serve as the subject matter expert and internal
liaison for all trade-related topics across Commercial, Market
Access, Finance, Legal, Quality, Supply Chain and Regulatory teams.
Support Commercial Readiness and Launch Teams with scenario
planning and readiness assessments. Operational Launch Readiness
Drive the onboarding, testing, and validation of trade partner
systems and integrations (e.g., order management, inventory
visibility, EDI/data feeds). Lead trade-related readiness meetings,
scenario planning, and launch simulations. Establish trade
analytics dashboards and metrics to track performance at launch,
and beyond. Serve as an internal expert on trade and distribution
considerations related to product labeling, and specialty
logistics. Vendor Management Support vendor selection and lead
ongoing management for trade partners, including specialty
distribution providers, specialty pharmacies and logistics
providers. Oversee contract negotiation, KPI’s, and operational
performance reviews. Partner with Market Access to coordinate
contract renewals. Channel Execution Oversee implementation and
management of all trade channel agreements and performance.
Contribute to the infrastructure build and SOPs for order-to-cash
processes, inventory management, product allocation and chargeback
validation. Partner to develop compliant processes for limited
distribution, and white-bag/brown-bag models, as appropriate for
Intellia’s gene-editing therapy assets. Compliance & Risk
Management Work with Legal and Contracting teams to ensure all
distribution strategies and agreements comply with all applicable
federal and state regulations. Support internal audits and monitor
for channel integrity and diversion risks. Analytics & Forecasting
Support Collaborate with Commercial Operations and Finance teams to
support product demand forecasting, gross-to-net assumptions, and
inventory visibility. About You: Deep understanding of the
specialty distribution and specialty pharmacy landscape, including
3PL and cold chain logistics. Demonstrated success in building
trade infrastructure in a high-growth or start-up environment.
Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical capabilities.
Comfortable operating in ambiguity with a strong bias for action
and accountability. 8 years of pharmaceutical or biotech
experience, with 4 years focused on trade/channel strategy. Prior
experience leading pre-commercial trade planning and launch
execution, ideally in gene (or gene editing) therapy, cell therapy,
or rare disease setting, preferred. Travel: Up to 30%, including
partner meetings, site visits, and internal cross-functional
