for a Dynamic team of inpatient critical care nurse practitioners

Details: Seeking a motivated and talented Nurse Practitioner to
join our growing Critical Care Team, very high acuity 20 bed
Intensive Care Unit. Work in collaboration with Critical Care nurse
practitioners, Pulmonary & Critical Care physicians, and
Cardiothoracic & Vascular surgeons to provide care in this
challenging and rewarding environment.
Basic responsibilities include:
Participation in daily multidisciplinary rounds. Formulating
differential diagnoses based on history, physical, clinical and
diagnostic findings. Developing treatment plans which may include
further diagnostic testing, pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical
interventions, and patient/family education.
Performing consultations for the Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgical
and Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine services, and following a
cohort of patients comprised of these two specialties.
Guiding the post-operative course of patients recovering from the
following procedures: CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, EVAR,
Accurately identifying and responding to acute and emergent
clinical situations. Utilizing advanced critical thinking and
critical care skills to intervene.
Managing patients on mechanical ventilators, CRRT, IABP, VADs and
ECMO. Performing invasive procedures including central venous
catheters, arterial lines, PICC lines, endotracheal intubations,
thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tubes, and lumbar punctures.
Contributing to efficient delivery of high quality critical care by
identifying areas of concern, working with appropriate parties to
make changes, educating staff, and demonstrating initiative in
ongoing self-education in the field of critical care medicine.
Requirements: Graduate of an accredited MSN Program with at least 2
years of experience working as a Nurse Practitioner in the acute
care setting. ICU experience and procedural skills preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Must be nationally certified as an Acute
Care Nurse Practitioner by ANCC or AANP. Must be a licensed APRN in
New Hampshire with current ACLS certification. Keyphrases: critical
