Job Description:
Implements and supports financial database technology assets in
an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud environment. Builds database
architecture and manages administration of Oracle database and
replication technologies -- Golden Gate. Drives technology product
lifecycle management and delivers cross dependency application
database infrastructure initiatives. Triages complex technical
problems to restore services and implement actions to prevent
recurring incidents. Automates and streamlines manual processes,
using Python and AWS technologies. Modifies existing databases and
database management systems or collaborates with programmers and
analysts to make changes. Develops methods for integrating products
so they work properly together-- customizing commercial databases
to fit specific needs. Primary Responsibilities: Documents design, operational procedures, and standards for
highly complex/business critical databases. Provides 7*24 first level database production support for
enterprise critical applications. Tests and implements new design features for general use. Defines and evaluates database maintenance tools and build
processes. Establishes performance tuning criteria and methods in
coordination with internal and external technical resources. Provides technology strategic roadmap for technology lifecycle
management. Designs, evaluates, and executes highly complex database
performance and functionality testing. Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex
projects. Provides technical evaluation estimates on technology
initiatives. Develops and maintains policies, procedures, and techniques in
order to minimize future incident occurrence. Defines requirements and operational procedures to ensure
network integrity, physical protection, and authorized access to
the network and applications. Develops business cases to justify information security
architecture initiatives. Enforces storage management standards. Defines the scope of change and impact to other interfaces. Develops high level architecture design for the enterprise. Performs independent and complex technical and functional
analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional
initiatives. Advises senior management on technical strategy. Mentors junior team members. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer
Science, Applied Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a closely related
field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five
(5) years of experience performing Oracle database administration
in a financial service environment or a financial services IT
solutions environment. Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science,
Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,
Mathematics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of
experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience
performing Oracle database administration in a financial service
environment or a financial services IT solutions environment. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) designing, developing, and
implementing mission critical database infrastructure solutions to
ensure compliance with business continuity ratings and audit access
policies, using Oracle RMAN database backup and recovery utilities,
Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Delphix Appliances,
Application Express (Apex), Oracle Restful Data Service (ORDS), and
Oracle disaster recovery Data Guard technologies. DE providing production and non-production technical database
support -- triaging, resolving, and providing root cause analysis
-- in an integrated asset management trading environment, using OEM
and Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) tools; and mining and
analyzing Oracle database level data and server log files -- core
dumps, Golden Gate database replication, Linux OS alert, and Oracle
trace files and alert logs. DE performing application database planning, design, and
implementation of Oracle database, server patch upgrades,
migrations, and end to end technology infrastructure in a financial
services environment; evaluating, testing, and certifying new
database features; and documenting and reviewing database upgrade
plans with stakeholders based on business requirements. DE assessing and testing database infrastructure changes --
service requests, automated incidents, and change management -- to
evaluate business risk from a server, storage, network, and
database perspective using Service Now; assessing database capacity
and performance management, using Oracle Automatic Workload
repository and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM); and ensuring
infrastructure changes adhere to Information Technology
Infrastructure Library (ITIL), and change management, and security
