Job Description:
Drives the creation of scalable and documented data design
solutions, using PL/SQL and ETL tools -- Informatica. Delivers
high-quality reusable data models and physical database designs
from logical data models for systems -- data warehouses,
operational, and data lakes. Delivers data modeling and design
solutions across large, complex projects with diverse scope and
complex business and technical requirements within a highly
integrated data environment. Uses business knowledge to translate
the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions.
Works autonomously and under consultative direction for achieving
organizational strategic data goals. Primary Responsibilities Adopts enterprise and industry standard modeling
methodologies. Communicates and enforces data modeling standards and design
practices. Participates in systems requirement and analysis sessions with
business and technical staff. Analyzes data requirements and recommends appropriate
solutions. Creates high-quality reusable data models. Delivers data as a key asset for the enterprise. Defines conceptual and logical data models to capture business
data needs across multiple subject areas. Delivers physical databases design from logical data models for
systems -- operational systems, data warehouses, and data
lakes. Develops data mapping and technical solutions for on-going
database design development efforts. Performs independent and complex technical and functional
analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional
initiatives. Works across project teams and develops positive working
relationships with peers and senior management. Advises senior management on technical strategy. Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems. Reviews user workflow and data architectural designs. Mentors junior team members. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer
Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,
Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years
of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience
performing data analysis and design in a financial services
environment. Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely
related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered
or three (3) years of experience performing data analysis and
design in a financial services environment. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) creating Entity-Relational (ER) and
Data Warehouse (DW) Data Models -- conceptual (to be presented to
information architects), logical (for business stakeholders), and
physical data models (to be implemented in databases); proposing,
designing, and implementing ER entity relationship or DW models
based on business requirements; creating conceptual, logical, and
physical data models using SAP PowerDesigner; and generating Data
Definition Language (DDLs) for physical implementation of tables
using SAP PowerDesigner. DE performing data analysis of source systems and tables and
analyzing how to store data in the new format, using TOAD and
Oracle; performing data profiling on feed files -- Excel, COBOL,
Mainframe tables, or Oracle/SQL Server tables -- using Informatica
Analyst; identifying data gaps and duplicates using Informatica
Analyst; and performing data analysis using SQL query. DE performing data analytics for business users based on
requirements using SQL analytical functions; creating and
implementing data quality checks to ensure the accuracy of data for
business use using Informatica EDQ; and providing data support to
data engineering teams during production issue triage -- monitoring
Informatica jobs and Oracle Stored Procedures to resolve data
quality incidents. DE liaison between business and technology partners to translate
business requirements into technical design solutions; creating
business requirement documents -- documenting requests from
business partners and defining technical components of work to be
done by data engineering teams; and collaborating with technology
partners to use TOAD to analyze data and create a Source-To-Target
(STM) mapping document (using TOAD) that contains source related
information and information on how the source should be mapped to
