This role is hybrid and based in our Boston office; you must live within a commutable distance.
For the initial training period (up to 6 months), the position will be office-based.
Destination Sport Experiences, through its global sports travel brands Marathon Tours & Travel, HYROX, Sportive Breaks, and Tri Travel, caters to those who want to participate in the very best endurance events across the world. We offer tours, travel packages, and guaranteed entry to endurance events worldwide, along with VIP hospitality access to top professional cycling events, and manage travel programs for mass participation events.
Due to an exciting year of growth at Marathon Tours & Travel in Boston, we are seeking a Contracting and Partnership Manager to join our expanding Boston team. This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with hotels, hotel brands, and international tour partners both domestically and internationally. This position is ideal for a client-centric travel professional experienced in hotel contracting, with proactive and collaborative teamwork skills.
This is a varied, fluid, and hands-on role. Responsibilities include:

• Negotiate hotel and other vendor contracts to ensure competitive rates and benefits.
  
• Create and manage hotel relationships.
  
• Review existing contracts regularly to ensure the best market rates.
  
• Manage inventory setup and sales for hotel-only packages.
  
• Run rooming list reports, verify accuracy, and communicate with hotels.
  
• Manage health and safety reporting to ensure compliance with standards.
  
• Own the operational delivery of key events.
  
• Exceed client expectations through high-standard program delivery, professionalism, and timeliness.
  
• Assist Trip Designers in managing hotel relationships.
  
• Review processes for inventory setup, management, and reporting.
  
• Collaborate with global team members to execute events seamlessly.
  
• Monitor sales performance and suggest appropriate actions.
  
• Identify and develop new revenue opportunities and partnerships.
  
• Develop, manage, and grow key tour partner relationships.
  
  To be successful, the ideal candidate will:
  
  
• Have a Hospitality & Tourism or related degree, or equivalent experience.
  
• Have a passion for endurance sports in the travel industry (advantageous).
  
• Have 2+ years' experience in the hotel industry, with:

• Strong proposal and contract writing skills.
  
• Experience evaluating hotel contracts and negotiating agreements.
  
• Proven success in developing client and partner relationships, resulting in benefits to the organization.

  • Be organized and detail-oriented, able to handle multiple projects.
    
  • Possess strong client-service and vendor management skills, with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
    
  • Be professional and confident in representing Marathon Tours & Travel via phone, face-to-face, and public speaking.
    
  • Understand and improve internal business processes.
    
  • Work collaboratively to meet team goals.
    
  • Have a proven track record of developing new business opportunities.
    
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    
  • Experience with Passkey is a plus but not required.
    
  • Be willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
