Clean Harbors is looking for a Vendor Procurement Manager to sit in Norwell, MA. The Vendor Procurement manager develops profitable vendor relationships, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing from vendors. Ensures favorable pricing and develops key performance indicators for vendor selection. Collaborates with business partners on vendor management to meet business needs. Evaluates and provides recommendations for buying strategies to senior leaders. May oversee delivery from vendor and evaluate vendor performance/impact on business outcomes. Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders.

  Responsibilities
  
  
  • Review requisitions and requests for vendor services or goods. Approve invoices for payment. Responsible for maintaining up-to-date vendor pricing and database integrity.
  • Determine method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid. Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
  • Manage corporate purchasing programs and/or vendors. Expedite delivery of goods to users. Provide purchasing reports detailing dollar amounts, frequency, and trends. Recommend and implement cost reduction programs and opportunities.
  • Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. Estimate values according to knowledge of market price. Analyze and review contracts to ensure compliance with Company requirements.
  • Ensure proper stocking levels of critical spare parts in inventory.
  • Coordinate programs with suppliers, engineering, and field to introduce, evaluate, and approve new products and processes. Prepare purchase orders or bid requests.
  • Review all requests for additions to the vendor database and establish payment terms and conditions.
  • Manage and train internal department employees.
  • May be responsible for receiving and inspecting goods.
  • Performance of RFP process

    Qualifications
    
    
    • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Management, Logistics, or related field.
    • 3 to 5 years in Procurement, vendor relations, or related experience
    • Previous experience in a direct supervisor/leadership position
    • Good administrative skills
    • Organization and written/verbal communication skills.
    • Able to multi-task
    • Able to work in a team environment and ensure adherence to deadline.
    • Experience reviewing and approving vendor invoices, working with payables software, and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
    • Experience working with and managing vendors, working in a fast-paced / high invoice volume environment.
    • Basic accounting and computer skills
