Gentex Corporation, a leader in automotive technology innovations including smart rear-view systems and advanced driver-assistance systems, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to lead our Engineering & Maintenance team within the Military, Aerospace & Defense sector. This role is pivotal in driving our mission to integrate cutting-edge electronic safety and security solutions into defense and aerospace products. The successful candidate will oversee the development and implementation of electrical systems and ensure that they meet stringent industry and military standards. Lead and manage the electrical engineering team to design, develop, and test all aspects of electrical components, equipment, and systems to ensure alignment with military standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automotive technologies into military and aerospace applications. Oversee project timelines and budgets, ensuring projects meet internal and external expectations and requirements. Maintain up to date knowledge on military regulations and compliance requirements, implementing necessary changes in development processes. Represent the engineering team in strategic meetings, delivering reports on progress, budgets, and roadblocks to senior management and relevant stakeholders. Mentor and develop engineering staff, setting expectations and conducting performance reviews. Strong leadership and team management skills. Expertise in electrical system design, troubleshooting and testing. Experience with CAD software and electrical simulation tools. Excellent communication and collaboration capabilities.
