H.S. Diploma or equivalent required-- Practical understanding of
Analog and Digital electronics-- 3-5 years' experience
testing/troubleshooting electronic and electro-mechanical
assembliesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:-- Trade School certificate
and/or Associates Degree in acoustic or electronics field
preferred.-- Acoustic Test experience desirable-- Experience in
MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, and ANSI and EN acoustic standards a
plusABOUT THE JOB!To ensure that Gentex product meets or exceeds
test design specifications to maximize customer satisfaction. The
technician will perform testing of acoustic, mechanical, and
electronic components, cables, sub-assemblies and completed
products to ensure conformance to functional and quality standards
and specifications. They will be responsible for assisting
engineering staff with acoustical data collection, analysis, and
basic reporting of engineering test results on electro-acoustic
products including headsets, earplugs, microphones, intercoms, and
head borne mounted military products. This role will also assist
with test planning, setup, cable routing and sound field
development under the guidance of acoustical engineers.Gentex

including a 9/80 work week.RESPONSIBILITIES:-- Experience
troubleshooting of electro-mechanical assemblies and wiring
faults-- Ability to read electronic schematics and engineering
drawings-- Effective communication skills with ability to
communicate technical issues to other departments as well as
outside suppliers-- Operate independently and capable of managing
multiple tasks while keeping well organized. This individual will
be required to move between production lines and support a wide
variety of products and test set ups-- Willingness to learn and
operate engineering laboratory equipment for acoustic (e.g. Audio
Precision, National Instruments), environmental, and mechanical
testing.-- Experience or willingness to learn operation and
maintenance of the 3D printing equipment.-- Ability to draft
engineering test plans and reports.-- Conduct in depth
troubleshooting to identify failure cause to PCB or subassembly
level in electronic and electro-mechanical systems. (e.g.
Communication headsets, digital and analog intercom systems and
microphone assemblies)-- Willingness to perform troubleshooting to
identify failure cause in electronic and electro-mechanical
systems.-- Assist with root cause analysis of failures and
communicate those failures effectively.-- Setup and operate
acoustic and electronic test equipment for evaluation and failure
analysis-- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering
staff.-- Follow written procedures, set-up/operate test equipment
and complete functional testing of acoustic and electro-mechanical
assemblies in a production environment-- General Inspection of
product to identify workmanship and visual non-conformance--
Perform assembly and inspection operations utilizing optical aids,
including but not limited to microscopes, magnifying glasses and
electronic vision apparatus-- Analyze test data and generate test
reports and/or presentations-- May be required to support other
