Job Description:
Lead Manufacturing Engineer -What do you get to do in this
position?The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will be the primary
resource for bringing innovative and life changing products to
Merrimack Manufacturing (MM). - In this role you will utilize your
technical engineering skills to be the go-to person with
transferring new product launches. - You will track project metrics
and milestones, lead cross-functional teams, and solve complex
manufacturing engineering problems. This role is responsible for
working directly with design authorities in the design and
development of multiple manufacturing lines to support design
transfer activities. How you will make an impact:
Own the Merrimack Manufacturing
product realization project plan and ensure cross-functional
activities are completed on-time. - Engage surrounding resources
(Supply Chain, Validation, Design Authority, etc) to ensure project
goals are obtained. - Identify system weaknesses and strive to
continuously optimize the standards.Work closely with upper
management to drive project schedules, report on project metrics,
and resolve roadblocksWork with design authorities to create
project plans, understand project scopes, and ensure projects have
adequate resources. - - - -Act as technical leader for process
development activities within a project, including structured data
driven problem solving, root cause analysis, Lean implementation,
etc.Designing, sourcing and building manufacturing line layouts
within MM facilities, working with supporting resources, as
required.Identifying, quoting and selecting process technology
(i.e. automation) vendors for production equipment. - Requires
equipment validation to ensure production targets are met.
Designing, specifying and/or sourcing assembly fixtures, jigs and
all required production tooling for production use at MM. Assist in
the development of supplier manufacturing processes, on site or
remotely. Ownership of the manufacturing line technical process
performance, i.e. first past yield, throughput and/or OEE, after
production has been kicked off. How success is defined in this
position:
Projects follow the product
realization process and meet all manufacturing performance metrics
- on-time projects, yield, throughput, product costs, etcExcellent
communication of project successes, while roadblocks or issues are
escalated appropriately.Projects are worked on through
collaboration across cross-functional teams. - Lessons learned are
identified and read across to future projects.Qualifications -
- BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or
suitable combination of successful prior experience and
education.
- Experience in manufacturing line design, manufacturing process
development, project management, and design transfer.
- Experience in the development and validation of complex
electromechanical devices
- Experience working with and leading cross-functional teams
through multi-phased projects
- Experience in complex fixture design and fabrication
- Experience in plastics joining methodologies such as ultrasonic
and laser plastic welding
- Experience in vision inspection system design and
development
- Experience in various molding, machining, and manufacturing
processes
- Experience working directly with suppliers to develop
manufacturing processes
- Experience utilizing cell/line design techniques such as
3P
- High proficiency in MSOffice applications, Visio, Etc. -
