At the same time, we seek to provide our shareholders with superior financial performance and our communities with earth-sensitive energy utilization.How you'll contributeThe Associate Process Development Engineer - 3D Printing is responsible for providing internal end users with quality 3D printed scaffolds on time and within specifications. This role will also be responsible for analyzing and documenting the results of experiments to prepare for tech transfer to manufacturing (GMP). Deliver quality 3D printed scaffolds to internal end users by requested due date Document standard processes for post processing of 3D printed parts, ensure compliance to specifications, and report abnormalities in printed scaffolds or processes Support the development, verification, and validation of methods to assess 3D printed parts Provide feedback to support ink pre-production and print process improvements Support scheduling and queuing of 3D printing throughout the lab All other duties as requiredFor this role you will needMinimum Requirements for Associate Process Development Engineer Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in materials science, chemical, mechanical or biomedical engineering (or equivalent) or Master's degree (MA/MS/MBA) in materials science, chemical, mechanical or biomedical engineering (or equivalent) 2+ years of experience in materials science, chemical, mechanical or biomedical engineering (or equivalent) with a BA/BS or 1+ years of experience in materials science, chemical, mechanical or biomedical engineering (or equivalent) with a MA/MS 1+ years of experience with SLA/DLP based 3D printing methods Proficiency with 3D modeling software (Solidworks, OnShape, Fusion 360, etc.) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficient in statistical analysisPreferred Qualifications for Associate Process Development Engineer 1+ years of experience with process/product development and transfer to manufacturing 1+ years of experience in change management 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment Knowledge of Quality Control principles and methodology Knowledge of GMP Proficiency with commercial finite element packages (COMSOL, etc.) Experience with biocompatibility and sterilizationMinimum Requirements for Process Development Engineer Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in materials science, chemical, mechanical or biomedical engineering (or equivalent) or Master's degree (MA/MS/MBA) in materials science, chemical, mechanical or biomedical engineering (or equivalent) 4+ years in materials science, chemical, mechanical or biomedical engineering (or equivalent) with a BA/BS or 2+ years in materials science, chemical, mechanical or biomedical engineering (or equivalent) with a MA/MS 3+ years DOE and design verification 3+ years developing requirements, test protocols, and executing validations for products, equipment, and processes 2+ years determining and documenting end user requirements for product 2+ years SLA/DLP based 3D printing methods Strong proficiency with 3D modeling software (Solidworks, OnShape, Fusion 360, etc.) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency with commercial finite element packages (COMSOL, etc.) Proficient in statistical analysisPreferred Qualifications for Process Development Engineer 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment 2+ years developing device master records 2+ years contributing to 510k submissions Knowledge of Quality Control principles and methodology Knowledge of GMP Experience with biocompatibility and sterilizationAt United Therapeutics, you'll realize quickly that it is not an ordinary place to work!
