As a Correctional Officer, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining a safe and respectful environment for inmates, staff, and the community. What You’ll Do Supervise inmate activities to ensure safety and security. Process new inmates, including intake paperwork, issuing clothing, and reviewing facility rules. Monitor and maintain Control Room logs, answer phones, and welcome visitors. Conduct security checks and inspections of cells, common areas, and facility grounds. Escort and transport inmates inside and outside the facility. Enforce rules and maintain order and discipline. Support inmate programs and daily operations. What We’re Looking For Strong communication skills (both written and verbal). Ability to remain calm, professional, and fair in all situations. Good judgment and problem-solving skills. Physical ability to meet job requirements (including a physical agility test). A team player who can work with staff, inmates, families, and the public respectfully. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Previous correctional experience a plus but not required – we provide training!
