This position is for a Landscape Foreman working out of our Plymouth, MA location Landscape Foreman is tasked with leading and managing a crew in executing a variety of landscaping projects that enhance and maintain the aesthetic and functional quality of residential and commercial properties. This role encompasses a broad range of activities including planting, pruning, trimming, and conducting both spring and fall cleanups. As a key point of contact on-site, the Foreman is responsible for ensuring that all landscaping tasks are performed efficiently, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients. The Foreman's duties involve meticulous planning and preparation for each project, direct supervision of one to two crew members, and rigorous adherence to safety protocols. Additionally, this position requires the use of the ClockShark timekeeping system to accurately log work hours and job details, facilitating effective communication and operational efficiency. The Landscape Foreman must possess a blend of horticultural knowledge, leadership capabilities, and proficiency with modern technology used in project reporting and tracking. Key responsibilities include providing clear instructions, promoting a safe work environment, interacting professionally with clients, and fostering team development. The Foreman ensures quality control throughout all project phases and plays a pivotal role in maintaining high levels of client satisfaction through excellent service delivery and prompt response to client inquiries. OBJECTIVES Crew Leadership: Lead a crew of 1-2 employees, assign tasks, and ensure efficient workflow while maintaining safety standards. Project Execution: Oversee planting, pruning, mulching, seasonal cleanups, and general landscape projects with attention to detail. Job Planning: Review job sheets, ensure tools and materials are ready, and communicate resource needs with management. Timekeeping & Reporting: Use ClockShark to log hours, track project progress, and ensure work stays within estimated hours. Client Interaction: Represent the company on-site, maintain professionalism, and address minor client inquiries. Crew Development: Train and support team members, fostering a productive and accountable work environment. Record-Keeping: Submit accurate project notes and report progress or challenges to management. COMPETENCIES Ability to effectively lead, manage, and motivate a small team, ensuring productivity and high morale. Strong knowledge of plant care, pruning techniques, and overall landscape maintenance practices. Proficiency in planning, organizing, and managing landscaping projects from inception to completion. Skilled in the use of various landscaping tools and equipment, understanding their maintenance and operational requirements. Capability to identify, diagnose, and effectively resolve issues related to landscape maintenance and project execution. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to clearly instruct team members and interact with clients. Focus on details to ensure that all aspects of landscape maintenance and installations meet quality standards. Strong understanding of and adherence to safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all team members. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, ensuring that projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Competency in managing client expectations, resolving concerns, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through professional service delivery. This role involves frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting materials up to 50 pounds. The foreman must have the strength and endurance to operate landscape equipment, hand tools, and machinery while ensuring proper handling and safety. Manual dexterity is necessary for tasks such as planting, pruning, and installing materials. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and sustain physical activity for extended periods is essential.
