| 1.0 FTE Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm JOB SUMMARY: Manages the
financial functions of Budget, Financial Reporting and Analysis to
ensure the accurate processing and reporting of financial
information. Institutes effective procedures and controls to ensure
the integrity of company financial data. Provides required
information timely and accurately to facilitate effective
operations and business decision-making. Assists the Chief
Financial Officer and Senior Finance Director on special financial
projects as deemed necessary. Will have direct supervision of the
Accounting Manager and Accounting Department. May have other
department supervision duties as agreed upon. KEY FUNCTIONS:
Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of month end and
year-end financial statements within generally accepted accounting
principles and established corporate policies and procedures.
Collaborate with the finance staff for the timely preparation of
the monthly financial management reports for review by the Chief
Financial Officer/Senior Finance Director prior to dissemination.
In conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer/Senior Finance
Director, ensure proper valuation of assets, liabilities, and
reserves on the balance sheet. Review, interpret and analyze
financial and statistical data for the Chief Financial
Officer/Senior Finance Director, administration, and department
heads. Provide fiscal support services for general accounting,
accounts payable, and cash services. Prepare and execute year-end
audits by public accounting firm and any regulatory audits.
Responsible for Medicare Cost Report preparation with outside
accounting firm, compliance and audit. Responsible for the
corporate 990 tax return preparation with outside accounting firm.
Responsible for any Certificate of Need reporting, if applicable.
Oversee the annual corporate budgeting process for review by the
Chief Financial Officer/Senior Finance Director to ensure the
roll-up is accomplished timely and within established financial
targets. Communicate effectively with all levels of management
regarding fiscal policies, and give direction in implementation of
these policies. Inform the Chief Financial Officer/Senior Financial
Director of the hospital’s financial operations. Ensure that all
financial transactions covered by minutes of the Board of Trustees
and/or hospital administration are properly executed and recorded.
Work with other fiscal staff on reimbursement, budget and accounts
receivable issues. Assist the Chief Financial Officer/Senior
Financial Director in overseeing the planning, control and
effective utilization of the financial resources of the
institution. Maintain and provide support and maintenance of all
Accounting and Budget systems Attend required meetings and
participate with committees as required/requested. Participate in
professional activities and maintain professional affiliations to
keep abreast of trends/changes, regulations and legislation in the

DEPARTMENT SCOPE OF SERVICE: The finance division provides the
following services to the Board of Directors, employees,
management, vendors, patients and other customers of SVHSC and BMH:
payroll, accounts payable, purchasing and supply distribution,
financial reporting, cost reporting, budgeting, information
systems, medical information systems, communications services,
billing, admitting, financial analysis, contract negotiations,
capital financing and strategic financial projections.
Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Requires a bachelor's
degree in accounting, Business or Finance EXPERIENCE/SKILL SETS:
Required minimum of five years of accounting analysis experience.
Three years in healthcare finance preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION(S): CPA Preferred OSHA CATEGORY: OSHA
Category I - Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or
tissues require use of techniques of Universal Precautions as

Compensation Disclosure in Accordance with Vermont Act 155 In
compliance with Vermont Act 155, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital
provides the compensation range for this position in good faith.
The listed range represents the pay scale reasonably expected for a
successful candidate based on factors such as relevant experience,
education, internal equity, and market competitiveness. Final
compensation will be determined during the hiring process.
