INTRODUCTION:
The Bishop of Manchester is the visible principle and foundation of
unity in the particular diocese entrusted to him. In a unique and
visible way, he makes Christ's mission present and enduring as
Shepherd of the Christian Community. In order to fulfill his
mission, the Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators
(clerics, religious, or lay people). He shares with them the
apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to
them.
Each position employed in the Diocese helps to extend the ministry
of the Bishop in particular ways as outlined in the position
description. All employees of diocesan entities assist the Bishop
of Manchester in serving the parishes, schools, and institutions of
the Catholic Church in New Hampshire.
The Director of Finance and Operations is accountable to the
President, Trinity High School and St. Joseph Junior High School,
and works collaboratively with the management team to achieve
successful results.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director of Finance and Operations provides leadership and
support for the strategic and operational initiatives of the
schools, particularly as they relate to finance, operations,
facilities, and school vitality. The Director works in unification
with the President, Principals, Director of Advancement and Dean of
Student Success in the execution of daily essential duties and
strategic initiatives, assisting in the formation of school-level
goals and the management of projects to fulfill school-level
missions and growth plans. He/she leads the development and
implementation of standard and consistent operational structures,
programs, and processes. Inherent in the position are the
responsibilities to ensure excellence in the Catholic culture, best
practices in business operations, capital planning and development,
budgeting, reporting, auditing, financial aid administration, staff
support management, technology advances, facility oversight and
cultivating/managing vendor relationships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, execute and supervise all facets of the business
operation of the school
- Prepare and monitor the annual operating budget and quarterly
reporting, as well as long-range financial planning
- Interpret the budget and other matters of school business
operations to management, governance and the public as
necessary
- Supervise and manage annual audit/review process and interface
with third party firm for timely and successful completion
- Assist school leadership through the audit/review process and
address any deficiencies
- Work with multiple stakeholders and professional
advisers/consultants in facility organization and maintenance,
contracting and growth plan management
- Interact with and inform Diocesan management where appropriate
on all associated business activities, plans and policies
- Recruit and manage personnel for positions in the area of
school financial management functions, facilities oversight,
technology and administrative staff support
- Manage the bookkeeping services relationship and activities
(including payroll) with designated staff support and/or contracted
party
- Supervise the benefits and insurance programs of the
enterprise
- Direct the tuition management program and the consistent
application and communication/implementation of financial aid
decisions to school families
- Manage appropriate plans for safety and security, technology
developments and overall compliance with applicable codes and
regulations
- Advise the President and governance board on the status of
legal matters involving business and financial services involving
the school
- Review contracts and negotiate/manage relationships with third
party vendors
- Other duties as assigned by the President

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, non-profit
management or related field
- Passionate about and committed to the Mission of the Diocese of
Manchester and the pursuit of growth and success of Catholic
schools
- Minimum 5-7 years of leadership in management/administration in
a business, education or non-profit setting
- Staff recruitment and management experience
- Excellent leadership, planning, execution, written and oral
communication, financial management and analytical skills
- Capacity to manage multiple responsibilities and activities
simultaneously
- Proficiency in accounting style software
- Ability to form and maintain positive relationships with all
customers and stakeholders
- Demonstrated effective organizational and time management
skills
- It is required that the incumbent be a practicing Catholic by
being in good standing with the Church and actively participating
in parish life

ENVIRONMENT:
- Office environment - clean, well-lit, environmentally
comfortable
- Minimal exposure to chemicals related to copier equipment and
general office solvents
- Minimal requirement to reach at or above shoulder level;
occasional reaching below shoulder level required
- Frequent grasping and manipulation of equipment and
controls
- Ability to travel throughout the diocese.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include nights
and weekends.
- Ability to tolerate prolonged sitting and/or standing and to
lift up to approximately 25 pounds to waist high level whenever
necessary
- Mobility includes regular sitting, some standing and
walking
