The Director of Treasury oversees the University's Treasury Department responsible for cash and treasury operations, long-term and short-term borrowing, investments, automated payments and associated systems. The role also entails overseeing all aspects of the university's financial risk exposures including interest rate risk. -Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support treasury and cash management operations and help develop strategies to maximize efficiencies, safeguard assets and minimize costs
  • Ensure compliance with treasury policies, procedures and internal controls, and periodically update control narratives
  • Recommend and implement improvements to current cash management processes
  • Manage and maintain university's banking infrastructure
  • Identify cost-saving and profit maximizing opportunities related to treasury
  • Oversee treasury functions including cash positioning, cash reporting and forecasting, analysis of bank and credit card fees, short-term investing and borrowing, wire payments, fraud prevention, long-term investments, and bank account setup and maintenance
  • Monitor debt covenant compliance and oversee the submission of key compliance reporting including submissions to rating agencies
  • Assists FP&A with developing key inputs into the balance sheet, income statements and cash flow statements for annual plan
  • Assists with M&A and integration activities for Treasury
  • Manage and train Treasury personnel on operational activities and developmental goals
  • Maintains relationships with banks, Outsourced Chief Investment Office (OCIO), credit card processors and other financial services providers
  • Manage employee access to all university banking systems
  • Ensure accurate and complete account maintenance including authorized signatures and approvers, opening and closing accounts, and adding services
  • Establish close working relationships with other University departments to support the service level and financial goals of the University
  • Manage the drawdown and return of federal funds
  • Ensure ongoing professional development to remain abreast of current policies, regulations and trends in treasury standards and government guidelines and communicating this information to relevant constituencies across the UniversityMinimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or Business required, MBA preferred
    • 5 - 7 years of directly relatable experience in Finance and Treasury
    • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills including the capacity to perform detailed analysis while understanding broader context and implications
    • Excellent relationship management skills to effectively interact with internal and external contacts
    • Demonstrated capacity in managing complex projects and priorities without compromising compliance, accuracy, or high standards
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences
    • Experienced and knowledgeable in banking, cash management operations, cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, private placement and bond covenant compliance and financial instruments
    • Demonstrated knowledge of banking industry regulations.
